There is never a dull moment in the community of Lion Nation. From musical concerts to celebrity guest speakers to guest food events, LMU offers a variety of on campus events for all students, and only walking distance for on campus students. Outdoor Recreation

Many of our buildings boast outdoor recreation spaces including a basketball court, sand volleyball court, barbecue grills and comfortable seating areas.

Sand Volleyball Court

Enjoy endless summer with LMU’s new sand volleyball court located on campus. Enjoy a quick study break with a fun volleyball game of 4’s or organize a competitive double’s tournament on a Saturday. Take a photo for Instagram using #LivingInLionNation and show your friends that you can play sand volleyball in January when they are shoveling snow.

Parking

LMU is a relatively small campus. You will find most destinations are just a short walk away. If you choose to bring your car to campus, parking is available at various locations. All students must register their on-campus vehicles with the Department of Parking and Transportation.  All students are charged a fee to park on campus, you must opt out by going to the Student Housing Portal if you do not have a car.

Biking on Campus

Healthy Body, Healthy Planet. LMU offers over 2 miles of bike lanes, 34 bike rack locations, and 4 campus pump & repair stands for our students. We also feature many bike prorgams including an active bicycle club, events to encourage bicycling, and partnerships with local bicycle shops. Plus, not to mention, Southern California usually provides sunshine year-round to make your ride that more enjoyable!

Zipcar© and Shuttles

LMU offers a shuttle system and Zipcar© available to rent for times when you want to leave campus. You’ll find LMU is an ideal location — just minutes away from the beach, and it’s easy to take advantage of all of the highlights that Los Angeles has to offer. Students take advantage of these services to visit a variety of LA locations: the Getty, LACMA, Hollywood sign or take a quick trip to the market.

OneCard

The LMU OneCard is your key to convenience. It’s your student ID, key to your room, library card and more. The OneCard may also be used to purchase cycles on laundry machines, products at the bookstore, and food at campus dining facilities and select off campus restaurants. Get more information about the LMU OneCard.

Security

LMU is located in the second-largest metropolitan area in the country. The University has its own Department of Public Safety. Officers patrol the campus around the clock. Resident Advisors are also on duty in every building each night from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, once classes resume. They are trained to be attentive, responsive and to contact Public Safety when needed.

Smart Laundry

Laundry facilities are available in each building, and our Laundry Alert system can notify you by cell phone or email when a machine becomes available or when your laundry is done. Just add funds to your Flexi account and use your OneCard to run washing machines and dryers.

Wireless Network (Wi-Fi)

You can access the campus-wide Wi-Fi network directly from your room and from all campus computer labs. This allows you to access the campus-wide email system, LINUS (the online library catalog system) and the internet anytime. You can connect to the network by plugging into the ports in your room or by accessing the wireless service provided in the residence halls.

Library

Built in 2009, LMU’s state-of-the-art library, William H. Hannon Library, is comprised of 120,928 square feet, with three levels above ground and a two-story basement below ground for high density collections storage. Beautiful inside and out, this new new library gives students the perfect home for study sessions.
